What I Provide in the San Fernando Valley:

  • Providing crisis intervention to help reduce or resolve; wandering, combative behavior, hallucinating, inability to manage finances, paranoia, refusal of needed help, unsafe driving and severe mood disturbances associated with Alzheimer's clients
  • In home assessments or office consultations with recommendations for safety, resources, benefits and long term care plans
  • Helping to determine client's ability to live and function independently as it relates to dementia or other medical conditions
  • Helping you to understand and create Durable Power of Attorneys
  • Assessing for possible placement needs or help to hire reliable caregivers and provide resources for keeping your loved one safely at home
  • Partnered with elder law attorneys who can address your concerns regarding conservatorship, trusts, estate planning and living wills
  • Working with a board certified geriatric psychiatrist who will visit patients in their own home
  • In the event of a psychiatric emergency, I can begin to coordinate hospitalization if a patient becomes gravely disabled or represents a danger to self or others
  • Serving as an advocate on behalf of the client and family; coordinating holistic health care with; primary MD, specialty MD, nursing, physical and respiratory therapists, dietician, home health agencies, speech and occupational therapists and others
  • Offering family crisis intervention and dispute resolution related to a loved one's declining condition
  • Providing counseling, support and options for end of life issues
  • Strategising behavioral techniques for families and caregivers to provide the best care for loved ones with dementia and or chronic illness
  • Supportive counseling to caregivers and family members who are experiencing depression, caregiver burnout and extreme stress related to a loved one's condition
  • Hospital advocacy and information specialist for patient's rights and discharge planning
  • Providing supportive counseling and long term planning to assist clients with chronic illness, new diagnoses and early onset dementia
  • Counseling for medical non-compliance
  • Counseling for grief, life transitions, depression and anxiety
